Cash Runway

Cash runway answers one specific question: if your income stopped today, how many months could your current cash cover your spending? It boils a lot of financial complexity down into a single, easy-to-read number.

    The three bands

    • Poor (under 3 months): cash would run out quickly if income stopped or spending stayed high.
    • Moderate (about 3 to 6 months): a workable cushion while you build up more savings.
    • Healthy (above 6 months): plenty of room to absorb a longer gap, the bar's scale runs up to 12-plus months at this end.

    Reading the bar

A marker sits at the exact point on the bar that matches your current runway, and each of the three colored zones has its own tooltip explaining what that band means if you hover it.

    What moves your runway

Runway improves as your cash balance grows or your average monthly spending shrinks, and it shortens after a big one-time expense or a drop in income. It's recalculated from your real numbers, so it moves as your situation actually changes.

Tip: Runway is a snapshot, not a forecast promise. It assumes your current spending pattern continues, so a sudden new expense or windfall will shift it the next time it's calculated.
