    Understanding Goal Progress

    ZohaibBy Zohaib

Every goal in Fyscal is built around one simple question: am I actually going to hit this? Each goal card is designed to answer that at a glance, without you needing to do any mental math.

    What's on a goal card

    • The current amount saved so far, shown alongside the target amount, in the goal's currency.
    • A percentage complete, calculated straight from those two numbers.
    • A progress bar that fills up visually as you get closer.
    • The linked account and due date, shown together so you always know where the money is coming from and when you're aiming for.

Where the current amount actually comes from

This is the part that surprises people at first: you don't manually type in how much you've saved every time. Instead, each goal is linked to one of your accounts, and the current amount is calculated automatically from that account's balance. Put $200 into the linked savings account, and the goal's progress updates to reflect it, no extra step required.

    How the progress bar behaves

The bar fills from 0% to 100% as your linked account balance grows toward the target. It's capped visually at a full bar even if your balance ends up exceeding the target, so a goal you've overshot still just reads as complete rather than overflowing the card.

Tip: Link each goal to an account that's dedicated to just that goal wherever possible, a separate savings account works best, since a shared account used for multiple things will make the goal's progress harder to trust at a glance.
